Vestas, the Danish leading wind turbine manufacturer, has secured a significant order from Greenbacker Capital Management, a prominent renewable energy asset manager.
The 59 MW order is for the Moscow Wind project located in Maine, USA. The project will be powered by fourteen V150-4.2 MW turbines.
Laura Beane, President of Vestas North America, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration with Greenbacker and the opportunity to transform the site, which was previously used as an Air Force radar defense system, into a clean energy hub.
“We look forward to partnering with Greenbacker and transforming this unique site, which housed a former Air Force radar defense system, into a clean energy hub. The Moscow Wind project will help bring Maine one step closer to achieving its goal of 100% of the state’s electricity coming from renewable resources by 2050”

The scope of the order includes the supply, delivery, and commissioning of the turbines, along with a multi-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement.
This comprehensive agreement aims to ensure optimal performance and efficiency of the wind turbines throughout their operational lifespan. Turbine delivery is scheduled to commence in the second quarter of 2024, with commissioning expected in the third quarter of the same year.
