Skanska, one of the world’s leading construction companies, has announced a major contract win in collaboration with Black & Veatch. The partnership has signed a significant agreement with the Defence Infrastructure Organisation, acting on behalf of the U.S. Air Force, for the design and construction of a new facility at RAF Molesworth in Cambridgeshire, UK. 

The contract involves the delivery of US Air Force European Infrastructure Consolidation (EIC) works, a crucial initiative for the U.S. military presence at RAF Molesworth. Skanska, known for its expertise in complex construction projects, will oversee the construction of a state-of-the-art two-story building, as well as the development of supporting infrastructure and a warehouse facility (detailed in the sketch below)

Skanska’s portion of the contract is valued at GBP 153M (approximately SEK 2.0 billion), which will significantly contribute to the company’s revenue for the fiscal year. In 2022, Skanska reported a revenue of circa SEK 161 Billion (approximately GBP 11.6 billion). 

Skanska, known for its expertise in complex construction projects, will oversee the construction of a state-of-the-art two-story building, as well as the development of supporting infrastructure and a warehouse facility.

With design work set to commence immediately, Skanska plans to break ground on-site in the spring of 2024. The project timeline targets completion by the summer of 2028, ensuring the timely provision of upgraded facilities for the U.S. Air Force at RAF Molesworth.
