The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) has selected the Calcasieu Bridge Partners Consortium, consisting of ACCIONA (30%), Plenary Americas (40%), and Sacyr (30%), to enter into exclusive negotiations for the Calcasieu River Bridge concession contract.
The existing bridge over the Calcasieu River is part of Louisiana’s transcontinental Interstate Highway 10 (I-10) and was open for traffic in 1952, connecting the towns of Lake Charles and Westlake.
At the end of 2019, Officials determined that bridge replacement should proceed, given the structure lifespan and increased demand. This week, the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LaDODT) announced that Calcasieu Bridge Partners Consortium is the preferred tenderer to undertake the bridge replacement contract.
