Clayco has been selected by Rivian, a pioneering American electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, to build an advanced manufacturing plant in Stanton Springs, Georgia. Rivian, a key player in the EV industry, aims to develop an expansive 1,800-acre complex dedicated to propelling sustainable transportation forward.
The new EV manufacturing Plant in Stanton Springs– Project Details
The Stanton Springs area, situated 30 minutes east of metro Atlanta along I-20, encompasses a high-tech and bio-pharma industrial park. Existing notable residents in the region include Takeda, Facebook’s Newton Data Center, and the Georgia Bioscience Training Center.
Rivian has chosen this location for its upcoming manufacturing facility, which, upon full completion, will boast an annual capacity of 400,000 electric vehicles units.
Positioned at the Stanton Springs North site, approximately 40 minutes from Atlanta across Morgan and Walton Counties, this facility signifies a significant development for the region. The State of Georgia and the Joint Development Authority (JDA) of Jasper, Morgan, Newton & Walton Counties have collaborated with local partners to prepare the site for Rivian’s establishment.
Rivian’s website reports substantial progress for enabling works, with earthwork almost 95% complete as of October 2023. The plant construction is expected to commence in early 2024.
Clayco will work alongside Jacobs, who will be Rivian’s engineer of record, and Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM), who will act as owner’s design architect.

As outlined in the Economic Development Agreement inked in 2022 by the Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) and Joint Development Authority (JDA), Rivian’s $5 billion Georgia project aims to create 7,500 jobs with an average wage of $56,000 at Stanton Springs North.
