The Nordex Group (Nordex) has secured orders from Renewable Power Capital (RPC) for four wind farms in Sweden: Knäsjöberget, Sörlidberget, Vitberget, and Storhöjden. These projects mark RPC’s most significant ventures to date and are anticipated to commence commercial operations between Q4 2025 and Q1 2026.
According to Nordex, the order comprises 80 turbines expected to generate 553 MW upon start-up. Additionally, the agreement includes a Premium Plus Service, a maintenance package covering a 35-year period for the turbines.
Renewable Power Capital Projects in Sweden – The High Coast wind farm cluster
Renewable Power Capital (RPC) is a European renewable energy investment platform established in 2020 and supported by CPP Investments.
RPC specializes in investing in solar, onshore wind, and battery storage projects, aiming to facilitate the energy transition and secure, stable, long-term, risk-adjusted returns.
The four wind farms cluster along Sweden’s eastern coast (Gulf of Bothnia). Here are the specific project locations:
- Vitberget in the Kramfors municipality (161 MW)
- Storhöjden in the Kramfors municipality (154 MW)
- Sörlidberget in the Kramfors and Sollefteå municipalities (140 MW)
- Knäsjöberget in the Sollefteå municipality (98 MW)
Through this order, RPC reaffirms its commitment to constructing these wind farms within Swedish territory and emphasizes the Swedish renewables sector as a priority market for their investments.

The High Coast wind farm cluster – About Nordex's Order
Nordex will deliver, install, and commission the 80 wind turbines across the four sites, of which 74 are N163/6.X and six N149/5.X turbines. Meanwhile, third-party contractors will handle the Balance of Plant (BOP) contracts, encompassing all aspects of the wind farms apart the turbines themselves.
The BOP agreement typically includes civil and electrical works essential for the wind farm’s operation, similar to the role of an EPC Contractor for civil works only.
Nordex Turbines and Project Timelines
The turbines, part of the Delta4000 series, will be installed on tubular steel towers with varying hub heights of 105, 118, 138, and 148 meters, dependent on height restrictions. These are very tall structures, and their height is comparable to a 30 to 35-story building.
Further details in the Delta 4000 series can be seen in the video below.
Nordex confirmed that will supply all turbines in the cold-climate version and equip the 74 N163/6.X turbines with the Nordex Advanced Icing System. This system aims to mitigate ice formation on rotor blades, ensuring continued energy production even in icing conditions.
According Nordex and RPC, the turbines across the four wind farms are scheduled to commence operation in 2025. Nordex will collaborate closely with local authorities and municipalities to ensure adherence to local regulations and requirements throughout each project’s implementation.
RPC and Nordex Partnership – Leadership Comments
Kevin Devlin, CEO of Renewable Power Capital, stated: “We’ve been really impressed by the performance and reliability of the Nordex turbines. The Nordex team’s focus, underpinned by strong environmental targets and circularity, is key for us. As an investor driving the European energy transition, we’re pleased to have such a significant turbine contract fulfilling some of the most exciting wind farm projects across Europe.”
“We are proud to be involved in this important wind cluster with our turbines and to once again be able to demonstrate the effectiveness of our anti-icing technology in such a demanding climatological setting,” said Patxi Landa, CSO of the Nordex Group. “High Coast will broaden our experience with large-scale projects in Sweden and help us to consolidate our position as a leading provider of wind turbines in Scandinavia. We are very pleased to be working with Renewable Power Capital for the first time.”
