The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has selected a joint venture led by Prince Contracting—a FlatironDragados company—in partnership with OHLA USA and WSP, to deliver critical upgrades to I-95 and SW 10th Street in Broward County.
The project, valued at approximately $933 million, will address longstanding safety and connectivity challenges at two major interchanges and represents a transformative investment in South Florida’s highway infrastructure.
As part of the ACS Group, one of the world’s largest civil infrastructure companies, FlatironDragados brings deep technical capability and local experience to this high-profile initiative. Prince Contracting, the JV lead, will play a key role in project execution, drawing from its long track record in transportation infrastructure across Florida and the Southeastern U.S.
Project Details
The project covers a nearly four-mile segment of the I-95 corridor and includes major reconfigurations at the SW 10th Street and Hillsboro Boulevard interchanges.
Planned works feature new flyover ramps, enhanced entrance and exit configurations, and widened travel lanes—all designed to improve safety, streamline traffic flow, and strengthen emergency evacuation routes.
The improvements aim to relieve congestion in a fast-growing region while enhancing access for both commuters and local communities. Once complete, the upgrades will create a more efficient and resilient corridor, better suited to the region’s long-term growth and mobility needs.
Contracting approach - Phased Design-Build
The project is being delivered under a Phased Design-Build (PDB) model, which emphasizes early collaboration among the contractor, client, and designer. This model enables comprehensive risk management and cost control, especially during the critical design phase when scope, schedule, and delivery strategies are still evolving.

The phased delivery model supports early contractor involvement, enabling the JV to contribute to key design decisions, identify constructability risks, and propose cost-saving alternatives before full-scale construction begins. It also allows for flexibility and scope refinement as new technical and community considerations emerge.
