At the close of 2023, Denker & Wulf, a prominent onshore wind farm developer in Germany, finalized agreements with the Nordex Group to supply and install 20 wind turbines across three projects in northern Germany.

Nordex confirmed these orders encompass Premium Service contracts, which include the maintenance of the turbines for 15 years. However, it is understood that enabling civil and electrical works for the three projects (also known as the balance of plant – BOP – works, will be executed by third parties.

Denker & Wulf’s Order to Nordex

The order includes the supply and installation of 20 wind turbines and subsequent maintenance for 15 years upon wind farm start-up, three different wind farms in Germany:

The supply, installation, and maintenance contracts are very common in wind farm projects, with the owner typically contracting another party to undertake all enabling and infrastructure works (e.g. earthworks, road access construction, foundations, inground cabling, transformers, etc.) – also known as balance of place works (further details below).

Nordex confirmed that the turbines will feature cutting-edge technology, including Nordex’s “BNK-Ready” solution for night-time marking based on requirements and an ice detection system.

The turbines can operate in various power modes to fulfil sound and shadow casting regulations and address extensive species protection. Additionally, they are equipped with shadow flicker and bat modules.
